The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) confirmed on Friday that 488 voters in Kirkuk will cast their votes in the special poll for the Kurdistan Region elections.
The media official of the commission in Kirkuk province, Ali Abbas Diab, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the voting process began at seven o'clock, as there is one polling center with two stations," noting that "the number of voters from the security services in Kirkuk reached (488) voters."
He added that "the process is proceeding smoothly and there are no obstacles, and there is cooperation between the commission and the security forces, and there are observers affiliated with political entities and civil society organizations."
