Lebanese Ambassador to Iraq Ali Al-Habhab confirmed on Tuesday that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani with his diplomatic efforts outperformed all countries in the region, pointing out that the Zionist enemy resorted to obstructing the process of convoys to the Lebanese people.

Al-Habhab told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Iraq is making a tremendous effort in the matter of following up on Lebanese guests wishing to enter its territory," explaining that "the number of arrivals to Iraq so far is within acceptable limits and is estimated at 8,000 citizens."

He added that "the Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displacement is following up the issue of registering expatriates, and the Popular Mobilization Forces are making great efforts in the process of facilitating transportation to shelters," noting that "there are more than a thousand Lebanese residents in Iraq working in various sectors who contributed to receiving expatriates."

He pointed out that "there is cooperation between the Higher Relief Committee, which was formed in the presidency of the Lebanese government, and relief bodies from the office of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and the holy shrines, by sending convoys and relief and medical materials directly to Lebanon in coordination with the Lebanese Ministry of Health."

He pointed out that "since the beginning of the expansion of the Zionist aggression in Lebanon, our embassy in Baghdad has not stopped receiving calls from tribal sheikhs, governmental and non-governmental institutions, holy shrines and political parties to express their desire to help.”

"The Lebanese embassy in Baghdad received two batches of wounded at Baghdad International Airport, and the hospital and medical institutions in the holy shrines host more than 600 Lebanese medical and administrative staff, and there is communication around the clock with cadres to follow up on the conditions of the wounded, who are at a high medical level," al-Habhab said.

Al-Habhab expressed his thanks for the diplomatic efforts of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani in stopping the war on Lebanon, stressing that "the Prime Minister's effort was ahead of all Arab efforts and Islamic countries through the movement he conducted during his visit to participate in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly and the contacts he had with senior officials and ongoing diplomatic contacts inside Iraq."

He stressed that "Iraq's role is essential in influencing the international track as the chair of the current session of the Arab Group of the League of Arab States, so the main role of Iraq will have a positive impact on the international track by pressuring towards stopping the aggression against Lebanon and starting the aid campaign and the reconstruction of Lebanon and on the other hand the stage related to humanitarian relief, especially since Iraq was and still is the race in supporting Lebanon."
