90% of government program goals achieved: Al-Aboudi

    The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, confirmed today, Monday, the achievement of 90% of the objectives outlined in the government program.
     
    In his speech during the celebration of Iraqi Science Day, which honored researchers and faculty members from public and private universities, as well as higher education institutions with awards for the years 2022 and 2023, Al-Aboudi stated: “With the advent of 2025, a year marked by great hopes and aspirations to complete scientific and qualitative achievements, we look forward to doubling excellence and creativity through dedicated efforts that contribute to providing our country with scientific and educational services, leaving a significant impact on all state sectors.”
     
    He emphasized that “Iraqi Science Day represents an opportunity to motivate expertise and enhance sustainable scientific innovation,” praising the efforts of the Department of Research and Development in organizing this important event.
     
    Al-Aboudi also pointed out the need to establish modern criteria for the Science Day awards that align with current scientific and cognitive challenges, assessing the extent to which scientific research contributes to solving developmental issues and providing effective solutions through academic institutions.
     He highlighted that “the scientific research file is a fundamental pillar of the Ministry of Higher Education’s work, as the ministry exert extra efforts to provide the utmost resources to achieve the best scientific and academic outcomes. Over the past 26 months, the ministry has achieved more than 90% of the objectives set in the government program, reflecting a rich experience full of tangible accomplishments.”
     
    Furthermore, he mentioned the establishment of the Scientific Research Authority under the ninth amendment to the Ministry’s law, calling it a qualitative addition to enhancing scientific research within Iraqi academic institutions. He confirmed that this step will contribute to expanding and advancing scientific research to serve society and support Iraq’s future aspirations.
