The Holy Shrine of Imam Al-Hussein announced on Tuesday the completion of its preparations to launch the first convoys to aid the Lebanese people.

"In compliance with the directives of the supreme religious authority to aid the afflicted Lebanese people, the Holy Shrine of Imam Al-Hussein announces its readiness to receive in-kind assistance from all parties to deliver it to our Lebanese brothers and the imminent launch of the first convoys.," said the head of the media department at the Holy Shrine of Imam Al-Hussein, Abbas Al-Khafaji, to the official website of the shrine - followed up by the Iraqi News Agency - INA. 

He added, "The Holy Shrine of Imam Al-Hussein, through coordination with the Iraqi and Lebanese government agencies, will undertake the transportation of these materials and their distribution to families in Lebanon."

Earlier, the Health and Medical Education Authority affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Al-Hussein announced sending aid convoys by land and air to relieve the Lebanese people under the direction of the supreme religious authority.
