MOH reports 178 cases of hemorrhagic fever, including 26 deaths since the beginning of the year

    The Ministry of Health-MOH announced on Monday, the epidemiological status of hemorrhagic fever recorded from the beginning of 2024 to date, indicating that the number of cases has reached 178, of which 26 have resulted in fatalities.
     
    Spokesperson for the Ministry, Saif al-Badr, stated to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The total number of confirmed cases of hemorrhagic fever since the beginning of the year has reached 178, including 26 deaths.”
    He noted that “most of the fatalities have been recorded in Dhi Qar, consistent with last year's figures.”
     
    He continued, stating that “the recorded cases of infections and fatalities to date are distributed as follows:  
    - Dhi Qar: 38 cases, 6 deaths  
    - Nineveh: 25 cases, 7 deaths  
    - Baghdad (Rusafa): 17 cases, 4 deaths  
    - Basra: 15 cases, no deaths   
    - Wasit: 14 cases, 1 death   
    - Babylon: 9 cases, 1 death   
    - Baghdad (Karkh): 8 cases, no deaths  
    - Maysan: 8 cases, 2 deaths   
    - Diyala: 7 cases, 1 death   
    - Al-Muthanna and Erbil: 6 cases each, no deaths  
    - Duhok: 5 cases, 1 death   
    - Kirkuk: 4 cases, 1 death   
    - Najaf al-Ashraf: 4 cases, no deaths  
    - Al-Diwaniyah: 4 cases, 2 deaths  
    - Karbala and Sulaymaniyah: 3 cases each, no deaths  
    - Salah al-Din: 2 cases, no deaths  
    - Anbar: No cases recorded.”
