PM invites Indian companies to invest in Iraq

    INA - BAGHDAD

    PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani met on Thursday the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Iraq, Prashant Pise, on the occasion of the end of his diplomatic mission.

    The meeting discussed the overall bilateral relations between Iraq and India, and ways to enhance and develop them in various areas, especially in light of Iraq’s current growth and development, which has created numerous significant investment opportunities, according to a statement by PM Media Office, - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of following up on the outcomes of the 18th session of the Iraq-India Joint Committee, held in June last year, and stressed the need for regular political consultations between the two countries concerning bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues. He also invited Indian companies to invest in Iraq.

    He highlighted India's significant role in the region and the world, calling for its efforts to help stop the Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people and prevent the expansion of the conflict zone, which poses risks to international security and stability. 

    The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to Pise for his efforts during his tenure in Iraq, acknowledging his role in fostering important levels of cooperation between the two countries and wishing him success in his future endeavors.

    In turn, Ambassador Pise conveyed the greetings of India's Prime Minister to Al-Sudani and expressed Indian companies' desire to work in Iraq in the fields of healthcare, hospital management, infrastructure, and technology sectors such as e-payment and digitization.
