Iraq and India conclude their political dialogues in Baghdad

    Ministry of Foreign Affairs – MOFA announced the conclusion of consultative dialogues with its Indian counterpart, which was held in Baghdad while indicating the preparation for the joint committee meetings next June.
     
    The political consultations between Iraq and India at the level of the undersecretaries of the two countries foreign ministries concluded today at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Baghdad, according to MOFA statement received by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.
     
    "The Iraqi side is headed by the Undersecretary of the Foreign Minister for Political Planning Affairs, Ambassador Hisham Al-Alawi, while the Indian side was headed by the Undersecretary of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Awsaf Saeed,” included the statement.
     
    During the political dialogue, a number of important issues were discussed in terms of bilateral relations, and future practical steps to expand cooperation in the political, diplomatic, economic, cultural and security fields, "preparation has been made for holding the meetings of the joint Iraqi-Indian committee, which is expected to take place in June," in addition to the exchange of high-level visits, signing of a number of memorandums of understanding and bilateral agreements in various fields.
     
    The Indian side delivered an official invitation addressed to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein from his Indian counterpart to visit the capital, New Delhi, according to the statement.
