Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein discussed bilateral relations and developments in Syria with his British counterpart David Lammy today, Wednesday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement - received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein met with the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom David Lammy, in the British capital, London."
The statement added, "The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields while stressing the importance of cooperation to support mutual interests. The two sides also discussed developments in the situation in Syria, and stressed the need to intensify international efforts to find political solutions that contribute to achieving security and stability for the Syrian people."
The two sides expressed - according to the statement - their aspiration for the continuation of dialogue and coordination between the two countries on regional and international issues of common interest.
