The Ministry of Oil announced on Saturday, the successful completion of the first multilateral oil well in Nahrawan region, located south of Baghdad.
In remarks delivered during a ceremony marking this achievement, Deputy Minister of Oil for Extraction Affairs, Basim Muhammad Khudair, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that the well, drilled by the Chinese firm EBS, features two branches and reaches a total depth exceeding 3,560 meters.
He highlighted that while the original project timeline had set an 82-day completion period, efficient coordination between the contractor and the Midland Oil Company allowed the well to be completed in just 70 days.
