Maysan Criminal Court Sentences Drug Trafficker to Life Imprisonment

The Maysan Criminal Court issued a life imprisonment sentence on Tuesday, for a drug trafficker convicted of drug trafficking offences.
According to a statement from the media center of the Supreme Judicial Council received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "The defendant was apprehended in possession of crystal methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and sell it among users."
The court's ruling was based on Article 28, Clause One of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017.
