The Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) carried out several arrest operations on Saturday targeting remnants of the ISIS terrorist gangs across various provinces.
According to a statement by the Security Media Cell-SMC, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "CTS forces conducted a series of specialized Ops in different provinces, resulting in the arrest of a terrorist who held the position of 'Administrator of Petroleum Derivatives' within the ISIS remnants in Anbar Province."
The statement also noted, "In coordination with the Directorate of Operations of the Kurdistan Region's Asayish, another terrorist was arrested in Sulaymaniyah Province."
SMC further stated, "During search and raid Ops, CTS forces successfully searched, detonated, and destroyed five hideouts in the Hamrin Mountains."
Additionally, it mentioned that "As part of their duties to target drug traffickers, CTS forces arrested a drug dealer in Dhi Qar Province, with the accused and the criminal evidence handed over to the Directorate of Drug Affairs and Psychotropic Substances in the province."
The statement concluded that "The Counter-Terrorism Service continues its specialized operations to target terrorist leaders and drug traffickers, aiming to achieve a secure and stable Iraq."
