Deputy governor of Maysan, Waad Hassan Al-Muhammadawi, confirmed, on Tuesday, that a joint meeting will be held with the Iranian side to discuss preparations for the entry of visitors through the Al-Shayeb border crossing.

"The local government in Maysan held a joint meeting with the Iranian side to discuss preparations for the entry of Iranian visitors through the Al-Shayeb border crossing in the presence of security leaders and health committees in the governorate," said Al-Muhammadawi to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

He added, "The meeting addressed the security axis to secure the entry of visitors from the Al-Shayeb border crossing with the Islamic Republic of Iran to the borders of the Iraqi Dhi-Qar Governorate. They reviewed all the procedures carried out by the service and health departments with the participation of the Popular Mobilization Forces, procession owners, and Maysan residents to secure the arrival of visitors."

The meeting "resulted in the formation of a joint committee between Iraq and Iran that will continue until the end of the Arbaeen visit until the last visitor leaves Iraq," he included, explaining that "the joint committee is concerned with the security, service and health aspects. The security aspect relates to the mechanism of organizing visitors and their entry into Iraqi territory through the Al-Shayeb crossing, and the service aspect relates to providing services to Iranian and foreign visitors from Al-Shaib to Karbala."

He concluded, "as for the health aspect, it will include the formation of health teams between the two sides to examine all visitors through Al-Shayeb border crossing."
