PM reviews procedures for securing visitors' routes and issues several directives

    The Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, issued 10 directives regarding plans for the Arbaeen visit .

    The media office of the Prime Minister said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, held today, via closed-circuit television at the headquarters of the Joint Operations Command, an expanded meeting with the governors of Basra and Wasit. Babil, Najaf and Karbala, and the commanders of operations and police in many provinces, in the presence of the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, and with the participation of the Minister of Interior who heads the Supreme Security Committee for the Arbaeen visit, who is in the Holy Karbala, and the Chairman of the Transportation Committee and the District Commissioner of Samarra and the leader of the Popular Mobilization Axis, to see the progress of the implementation of the plans security and service services intended to secure the forty-day pilgrimage in the holy city of Karbala.

    He added, "The Prime Minister was briefed on the measures taken to secure the roads of visitors heading on foot from all parts of Iraq towards the holy city of Karbala, and the facilities provided at the border crossings, and everything that would help provide a safe atmosphere for the visitors and the Husseini processions spread along the path." In addition to reviewing the service plans in the joints of municipal and health services, transportation, and others.

    The Prime Minister praised "the security services, for the exceptional effort they are making in order to secure the million visit and its smoothness, and he also highly appreciated the efforts of workers in service departments, whether in ministries or governorates," praising "the level of cooperation shown by citizens and Hussainiya processions, and adherence to instructions and procedures to ensure The success of the fortieth ceremony.

    He stressed "the responsibility of the federal government, local governments in the governorates, and all security and civil agencies in providing service, security and logistical requirements for the millions of visitors, from inside and outside Iraq," pointing out that "meetings will continue to be held throughout the coming days via closed-circuit television, in addition to holding a meeting after The end of the visit in order to evaluate the work done and what is required in the future.

    He explained, "The services provided to visitors are the result of efforts made by the concerned authorities and the governorates that implemented important projects that established these services," referring to "the entrances to the holy Karbala governorate and the rest of the other service projects, which facilitated the visit process and came as a result of deliberate planning, and the opening of new important roads." In the future, fixed and floating bridges will be opened.

    He referred to "the permanent Supreme Committee for the millions of visits, which took charge of planning all services and events, and organizing these resources in the right direction that achieves the goal," appreciating "the efforts made by the holy shrines in Karbala, Najaf, Kadhimiya, and Samarra."

    The Prime Minister issued a number of directives that must be implemented to complement the directives and plans that have been prepared, and the great work that has been done by all security and service formations :

    1 . Reviewing security and service plans and verifying them in the field to ensure that they are implemented according to what was planned . 

    2 . The governorates in which the visitation ceremony ended and the visitors walked towards Holy Karbala and from which the processions were lifted, especially the governorates of Basra, Dhi Qar and Muthanna, and in the coming days the governorates of Diwaniyah and Wasit, all of them must strengthen the resources of the Holy Karbala Governorate, whether from security units or service resources, such as transport vehicles and wheels.

    3 . The governorates that have border crossings must give priority to strengthening and organizing these crossings, providing transportation vehicles, as well as the roads the wheels take, protecting visitors, and important traffic campaigns .

    4 . The smooth flow witnessed by the entry process for visitors is also supposed to be ensured in the event of departure, starting with transportation and passing through the facilities related to visitors’ exit registration .

    5 . Governorates and security leaders should take care of the safety of visitors and mobilize all traffic detachments in them to reduce traffic accidents .

    6 . The Baghdad Operations Command must mobilize security and service efforts, as tomorrow and the following days will witness an increase in the number of visitors, and the peak will be from the 15th to the 19th of Safar .

    7 . The Anbar Operations Command must continue to control the desert and the borders of Holy Karbala, and continue proactive work in all axes in this region, and there must be combing operations in the desert areas adjacent to the borders of Holy Karbala .

    8 . The Baghdad and Samarra operations commands and their local governments must develop independent and thoughtful plans regarding the crowds of visitors that will head there after the end of the Arbaeen visit, with the importance of fruitful and effective coordination with the holy shrines .

    9 . All concerned authorities at ports and airports must organize work and continue the same effort at the beginning of the visit, as these places will be the last stop for visitors and must be dealt with with high responsibility .

    10. The security and intelligence services must be on high security alert, as terrorism and deviant groups are lurking on this occasion, and they will not be able to with the energy and vigilance of our security services and the cooperation of the crowds of millions of visitors.
