A joint force from the army and the Popular Mobilization Forces carried out a security operation southeast of Mosul today, Saturday.
The Popular Mobilization Authority said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces carried out a security operation on three axes in cooperation with army units and security services in southeast Mosul.".
It added, "The operation was participated in by the Operations and Intelligence Command departments, the supporting directorates of the Popular Mobilization Authority, and the brigade units of the Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces, represented by the 30th, 58th, and 59th brigades, as well as the Iraqi army units and local police."
It continued, "The operation included raiding, searching, and combing the areas of the villages of Al-Hawi in the Nimrud district, southeast of Mosul, and verifying information; to search for wanted persons, as part of the security plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)."
