Interior Minister arrives in Karbala

    Abdul Amir al-Shammari, the interior minister, arrived in Karbala on Thursday.  

    "The Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Supreme Security Committee to secure the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, arrived this morning, to Karbala, accompanied by the deputy commander of joint operations," reads a ministry statement that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained.

    As per the statement, the governor of Karbala received the the minister and the accompanying delegation, the visit was made to observe the ongoing arrangements for the anniversary of Imam Hussein's (peace be upon) Arbaeen.
