Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani inaugurated today, Friday, the completion of the first phase of the central processing plant project in Al-Faiha oil field in Basra Governorate.
Abdul-Ghani said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The ministry succeeded in transforming Al-Faiha exploration area into a producing oil field, and it targets three oil reservoirs (Al-Yamamah, Mushref, Al-Zubair), to produce (100) thousand barrels per day." He pointed out that "the ministry has developed a plan to invest the associated gas from the field by building a plant to process and invest the associated gas with a capacity of (125) cubic meters (one million standard cubic feet) per day, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year".
Abdul Ghani stressed that "the ministry is keen to implement the components of the government program to develop the oil and gas industry, and work to increase financial revenues to support the national economy."
The statement added that "the celebration was attended by the ministry's undersecretaries and a number of officials in oil companies and departments of the ministry's center, the concerned authorities and dignitaries of the region, and citizens."
