Rashid stresses the importance of the participation of Iraqi teams in international forums

President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed on Friday the importance of the participation of Iraqi teams in international forums.
 
 A statement from the media office of the president of the republic received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that "the president of the republic received at his residence in Paris, the minister of youth and sports Ahmed Al-Mubarqa and the players participating in the Paris Olympics in weightlifting, judo, swimming and athletics, in support of Iraq's participation in various games in this great sports forum.
 
The president of the Republic pointed out that" sport enjoys a large area of attention and support of the presidency of the Republic, and that his attendance of the opening match of our Olympic team is a confirmation of that interest, "pointing to"the importance of the participation of Iraqi teams in international forums as an important factor in strengthening relations between countries and peoples and the development of societies, as well as its preventive role in protecting young people and promoting positive behavior, while urging the players to make exceptional efforts to achieve positive results and raise the name of Iraq in international tournaments and competitions.
 
For his part, the Minister of Youth and Sports and the accompanying delegation praised the"interest of the president of the Republic in the Iraqi participation in this global forum, and his keenness meet them, find out their needs, and provide the appropriate atmosphere for Iraqi athletes before the start of the competitions.”
