Spain: Eliminating an ISIS network planned to attack Real Madrid

The Spanish police announced today, Monday, the elimination of a network of ISIS terrorist gangs, which was planning to attack the bus of Real Madrid players and their fans.

El Confidencial newspaper reported, "The terrorists identified the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, the home stadium of Real Madrid, as one of their targets. In addition, the organization incited the attacks during the European Football Championship in Germany and the Olympic Games in France.".

The newspaper added, "The police arrested nine people, as the operation took place in cooperation with the European Police Agency (Europol) and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation."
Spain declared "the fourth level of terrorist threat out of five possible levels.".

Earlier, “some European stadiums had been exposed to terrorist threats, including (the Emirates Stadium in London, the Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris, and the Santiago Bernabeu and Civitas/Metropolitano stadiums in Madrid).”
