German press reports revealed today, Friday, that Bayern Munich is close to signing Joao Balenha, the Tottenham midfielder, during the current summer transfer period.
The Bavarian club was close to signing the Portuguese midfielder during the last summer transfer period from the English team Fulham, but the deal failed in the final hours of the transfer.
Portuguese star Joao Balenha, Fulham midfielder, has a contract with the English club that expires during the summer transfer period of 2028.
The German Sky Sports network said that Portuguese player Joao Balenha is currently Bayern Munich’s first target in the defensive midfield in preparation for the new football season.
The German network added that there is already a verbal agreement in principle between Bayern and the 28-year-old, also because all the basic contract details had already been negotiated last summer.
The German network concluded its talk by saying that Palinha is keen to join Bayern Munich this summer, and that talks with Fulham are already underway and the German team is ready to spend between 40 and 45 million euros in transfer fees.
