The Ministry of Transport confirmed, on Wednesday ,that the International Finance Corporation IFC has reached the final stages on the development plan of Baghdad International Airport, while pointing out that there are serious government efforts to upgrade airports.
The Ministry Media Director, Maitham Abdul Safi, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that " the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has reached the final stages of submitting the final proposal on the development of Baghdad International Airport" ,indicating that "there is a plan based on the expected percentage increase in passengers ”.
He pointed out that" the classification of Iraq's airports is (CAT II), that is, it occupies the middle position", stressing "there are plans to upgrade the level of airports and reach the third classification (CAT III), where work was started at Baghdad International Airport".
