Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed today, Monday, that the discovery of a new mass grave, containing the pure remains of the bodies of innocent Kurdish people, in Samawah desert, brings to mind the path of blood, struggle, suffering and disappearance.
The Prime Minister said, in a tweet on the (X) platfom, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Despite the passing of years since the disappearance of the Baath clique and tyranny on Iraqi people, evidence of the sinful crimes of the former regime continues to be revealed day after day, to tell generations the extent of the atrocities experienced by our people under dictatorship."
He added, "The discovery of a new mass grave, containing the pure remains of the bodies of innocent civilians, children and women from our Kurdish people, in Samawah desert, brings to mind the path of blood, struggle, suffering and disappearance, in which our people suffered under the brutality of the racist regime."
Al-Sudani concluded by saying: "Glory, honor and mercy to the martyrs of Iraq, the martyrs of oppression, and the victims of the brutality of the hateful dictatorship."
