Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA):that “The Prime Minister met in Davos with a delegation from the International Finance Corporation IFC, led by the Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation Mr. Makhtar Diop on the sidelines of the Davos 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland
The meeting involved a review of the prospects for cooperation between Iraq and the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group. This collaboration aligns with the Iraqi government's ongoing economic reforms and the implementation of significant strategic and investment projects.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani reiterated his assurances of the government’s readiness to develop the scope of cooperation and partnership with the International Finance Corporation, especially after the signing of a contract between the Civil Aviation Authority and the International Finance Corporation to prepare an investment portfolio regarding the Baghdad International Airport development project. The aim is to align with international airports and ensure comprehensive compliance with international standards.
The IFC delegation conveyed a desire to broaden its engagement in Iraq, recognizing it as an attractive region for investment. They also expressed interest in participating in the Strategic Development Road project and its associated major projects.
