IFC agreement to develop Baghdad International Airport will soon be put into action: Al-Saadawi

    INA-  BAGHDAD

    The start of the IFC agreement to develop Baghdad International Airport is soon, according to Minister of Transport Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi's confirmation on Monday. 
     
     
    "The coming days will witness the implementation of the agreement signed with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), which provides for the rehabilitation and development of Baghdad International Airport," Al-Saadawi stated in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), emphasizing that "the General Company for Airports Management and Air Navigation will begin the rehabilitation of the airport hotel soon."

     
    Noting that "the ministry's interest in the rehabilitation and development of Baghdad International Airport as it represents the interface of Iraq with the world," he continued, "The ministry intends to invite the International Finance Corporation to its strategic vision for preparing Baghdad International Airport in a way that meets global requirements." 
     
     "The ministry has a comprehensive vision to develop all airports and upgrade their services," he stated, adding that "an integrated investment portfolio that includes how the international airport is expanded, financed, operated and maintained, in accordance with international standards for airports around the world, is provided as part of the agreement with the International Finance Corporation." 

    "The purpose of this agreement is to improve safety, facilities, and airport efficiency," he said.
