Singapore’s Changi Airport regained its top spot on Skytrax’s annual list of the world’s best airports, while Qatar’s Hamad International Airport came in second.
According to Skytrax, an airline and airport classification company that prepared its annual list based on a survey of travelers from around the world, this year’s top five included both Tokyo International Airport, known as Haneda, in third place, and Incheon International Airport. South Korea is fourth, and Paris Charles de Gaulle International Airport is fifth.
Singapore’s Changi Airport previously topped the list for eight consecutive years, but dropped a few spots between 2021 and 2022 due to fewer passengers during the pandemic, with Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, leading instead.
Changi Airport has a stunning 40-meter-tall indoor waterfall, a butterfly garden, an IMAX cinema, and over 280 retail outlets and restaurants, making it the perfect place to hang out during your layover.
CNN quoted Skytrax’s Peter Miller as saying, “Changi Airport is primarily a transit airport and according to customer feedback, the airport’s performance is excellent as it provides a wide range of services and amenities for all types of customers, whether families, business travelers or tourists.
Hamad International Airport, second on the list this year, offers transit facilities, including city tours, for those who spend more than eight hours waiting for a connecting flight.
