The leader of the Sadrist movement, Sayyid Muqtada al-Sadr, called today, Friday, on Parliament to legislate a law making Al-Ghadir Day an official holiday.
Al-Sadr said in a tweet on the X platform, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “It is “by order of the Iraqi people and the moderate national majority of all sects, the Iraqi Council of Representatives must legislate a law that makes the eighteenth of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah (Eid al-Ghadir al-Aghar) an official public holiday for all Iraqis, regardless of their affiliation and belief.”
