Iraq: Egyptian offers to manufacture important medicines inside the country

    Minister of Health, Salih Al -Hasnawi, confirmed on Monday that there are offers from Egyptian companies and investors to transfer technology and manufacture important medicines to Iraq.


    "At the invitation of the Egyptian PM and Egyptian Minister of Health Khalid Abdul Ghaffar, we participated in the International Conference on Health, Population and Human Development in Egypt. We also participated in the first dialogue session in the presence of President Muhammed Abdul-Fattah El-Sisi. During this dialogue session, we reviewed what was accomplished in Iraq on human development, which is related to infrastructure through schools, hospitals, universities and health centers," said Al-Hasnawi to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.


    He added, "We fully reviewed the Iraqi state's projects in the field of energy and increasing the national income for the Iraqi individual, what was done in the Ministry of Health through the modernization of the health system, and what was completed during this period, in addition to what is related to human staff and development, whether in the Ministry of Health or different State ministries."


    “On the sidelines of this conference, we met with a delegation representing the Egyptian companies that produce medicines and medical supplies. Today, we have a meeting with the Unified Purchase Authority for medicines and medical supplies, and we have a bilateral meeting with several ministers. This conference is not only for the Ministry of Health but also for foreign ministries from different countries of the world, as it lasts for three days," he noted.


    Al-Hasnawi pointed out that "the economic relationship is constantly developing with the Arab Republic of Egypt, and in the field of health there are quite a few Egyptian companies that have contracts, most of which are with the private sector to provide medicines and have contracts with the Ministry of Health, as there are some Egyptian companies and investors who want to transfer technology and manufacture important medicines in Iraq.


    "In the fields of building and real estate development, Egyptian companies are working in Iraq and contributed to building bridges, and there are offers from Egyptian companies to build hospitals," he included.
