Foreign Minister inaugurates the Iraqi embassy in Croatian capital, Zagreb

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein inaugurated the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the Croatian capital, Zagreb, today, Monday, while indicating that Iraq aspires to develop its relations with Croatia.
     
    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein inaugurated the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in the Croatian capital, Zagreb, today, Monday," indicating that "this is a step aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Croatia and consolidating the foundations of cooperation and friendship between the two countries."
     
      "The opening ceremony was attended by the Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs Gordan Radman, the Croatian Ambassador to Iraq Ivan Juric, the Head of the Economic Department Irena Ilebak, the Head of the Africa and Middle East Department Tamara Krupski, in addition to a number of Arab ambassadors accredited to Croatia." 
     
    In his speech during the ceremony, Hussein stressed that "the opening of the embassy reflects the depth of relations between the two friendly countries, and comes within the successes of Iraqi foreign policy at the regional and international levels, in addition to the progress achieved in multilateral cooperation," noting that "Iraq aspires to develop its relations with Croatia, taking into account that expanding Iraqi diplomatic representation abroad represents a fundamental pillar for achieving foreign policy goals.
     
    " He stressed "Iraq's commitment to strengthening its relations with Croatia in various fields, especially political, economic, scientific and cultural," stressing that "deepening friendly relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Republic of Croatia aims to strengthen the bonds of cooperation in various sectors, in a way that achieves positive gains for both parties." 
     
    Hussein stated that "relations between the two countries are on an upward path to achieve common goals, and this opens the doors to broader cooperation, especially with Croatian companies operating in Iraq in the fields of construction and energy," noting that "the Iraqi government supports foreign companies from friendly countries seeking to invest, most notably Croatian companies." 
     
    He explained that "Iraq has rich natural resources and a strategic location that makes it a link in global trade, which enhances its pivotal role in the Middle East and beyond," noting that "Croatia played an active role in supporting Iraq during its war against terrorist groups, through the participation of military advisors within the international coalition forces and providing military advice, in addition to contributing to attracting the most prominent international companies to work in Iraq." 
    He pointed out "the importance of the role of the Iraqi and Croatian communities in strengthening relations between the two countries." 
     
    On the sidelines of the opening ceremony, the minister held a meeting with the staff of the Iraqi embassy in Zagreb, where he urged them to make efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and serve Iraq's interests on the international arena.
