The Independent High Commission for Elections - IHEC announced on Monday the preliminary results of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, indicating that the total number of votes reached 2 million and 87 thousand votes.

"The initial results are not subject to appeal. The percentage of participation in the Kurdistan Region elections reached 72%," said IHEC at the press conference to announce the preliminary results of the Kurdistan Region Parliament elections - followed up by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

The statement included that "the initial results constitute 99.63% of the total results. The number of stations is 7044 stations for public and private polling."
