Al-Sudani Receives U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham

Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi news agency INA that Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani welcomed U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham and his accompanying delegation at his residence in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday afternoon (Baghdad time).
 
The statement read that “The meeting focused on the Iraqi government's vision for the future of its relations with the United States, aimed at transitioning to a bilateral relationship characterized by cooperation and partnership across various sectors.”
 
It further said that “The discussion also covered the situation in the Middle East, particularly the war in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need to halt military escalation and contain the conflict.”
 
“Senator Graham expressed his appreciation for Iraq's steps towards fostering cooperation and strategic bilateral relations with the United States,” it added.
