Al-Sudani: Security forces need to exercise caution and be on lookout for ISIS remnant infiltration

    Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, emphasized that all security forces must remain alert and cautious as the remaining members of the terrorist ISIS gangs may infiltrate.
     
    "The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, chaired on Wednesday evening, a meeting of the Cabinet for National Security, during which they discussed the latest developments in the security situation in Iraq, and deliberated on the topics on the agenda and made recommendations on them," Major General Yehia Rasool, the spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    "The recent attacks on Iraq, which made up a flagrant violation of Iraqi sovereignty, were extensively presented at the meeting," he continued. "It was stressed that all necessary political, diplomatic, and security measures must be taken to protect Iraq's sovereignty and preserve its security."
     
    The statement from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces stressed that "all security forces need to be vigilant and stay aware of the infiltration of the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs, and their exploitation of the recent security developments in the country." It also stated that "the importance of strengthening security throughout the country, because of the need for the government to implement its plans for development and reconstruction, and this matter can never be tolerated."
