(INA) signs two memorandums of understanding with Russia Today and Russia’s Sputnik in Kazan

    The Iraqi News Agency (INA) signed today, Wednesday, two memorandums of understanding with the Russia Today channel and the Russian news agency (Sputnik).
     
     
    The two memorandums of understanding were signed by Satar Al-Ardawi, Director of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), on the sidelines of the Kazan Islamic Forum currently being held in the Russian city of Kazan, with Maya Manna, Director of RT Arabic, as well as with Vasily Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation at the Sputnik News Agency and Radio.
    The two memorandums of understanding aim to enhance cooperation in the field of information exchange, confirm the establishment of distinguished relations in a way that serves the two countries, and expand cooperation in the field of information exchange on the basis of equality, mutual respect, and the desire to establish friendly relations based on fruitful cooperation.
    The two memorandums also aim to develop bilateral professional cooperation in the field of media for the purposes of enhancing cooperation between Iraq and the Russian Federation, following up on projects aimed at developing the information space, enhancing objective and professional news transmission on political, cultural, humanitarian, economic and sports issues, enhancing news information, mutual understanding and rapprochement between the two peoples, in addition to broadcasting events related to Iraq exclusively from the Iraqi News Agency.
    Satar Al-Ardawi, Director General of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: “The two signed memorandums of understanding will enhance the prospect of bilateral cooperation to wider ranges and will move the file of dealing with the events in Iraq to new dimensions, and will also include an exchange of experiences.”
    In turn, the director of the RT Arabic channel expressed her happiness at signing the memorandum of understanding with (INA), praising the progress witnessed by the agency and the accreditation of various media outlets regarding the events they report in Iraq.
    Manna indicated the desire for the memorandum to result in comprehensive media cooperation and the exchange of ideas and media services.
     
    While Vasiliy Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation at the Sputnik News and Radio Agency, said: “We are very happy to obtain a new partner, especially in a country like Iraq, and we expect a lot from this memorandum,” stressing, this memorandum is a completely natural continuation of our cooperation with the countries of the Islamic world.”
