Presidencies and political leaders congratulated today, Wednesday, the national team’s qualification to the knockout rounds of the Asian Nations Championship after its victory over the Vietnam team.
The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, said on the “X” platform, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “We congratulate the players of our national team for qualifying to the knockout rounds of the Asian Nations Championship with full marks.”
He added: "We wish them all the success in the upcoming matches, so that they may raise Iraq's name high in the forums of victories."
In addition, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani said in a blog post on the “X” platform, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “We congratulate our national team and the sports fans for its qualification to the final rounds of the Asian Cup, after a wonderful performance in which it achieved victory in its three matches. We place our hopes on you to continue victories in the upcoming matches and achieve a new sporting achievement worthy of Iraq and its people.”
For his part, Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandalawi said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “We congratulate the Iraqi national team and our sports fans for qualifying to the second round of the Asian Cup in Doha, and we salute the Iraqi fans who attended the match.”
He called on the players to "show more brilliance in the upcoming matches."
