The Ministry of Interior announced on Sunday the closure of land and air ports on polling day.
Ministry spokesman Brigadier General Mekdad Miri told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that " the instructions received currently indicate that the land and airports will be closed on polling day, "indicating that "the security services have completed their full preparations in implementing the security plan for the elections.
He added that "no directives have been issued so far from the Supreme Committee supervising securing of elections on movement between the provinces," pointing out that "there is a high consistency in the plan to secure the elections.
