Karbala Police Directorate announced, today, Friday, completing its security plans for the Election Day, stressing that the polling centers are secured.
"A security conference was held two days ago that brought together the commanders of Karbala operations, Karbala police, the director of the Electoral Commission and all the officers concerned with the security plan for the election day, as the electoral stations were distributed among three locations, including 244 centers for the general polling, 13 centers for special polling, in addition to one polling center for the IDPs", Karbala Police Media Director, Brigadier General Alaa Al-Ghanimi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Ghanimi stressed that "all the polling centers are secured, according to a security plan that identified the way in which these centers are protected."
Al-Ghanimi also added, "Fifty policemen have been assigned to secure each polling center, as the security plan will be exercised on September 11th, to find out its Pros and Cons."
Al-Ghanimi directed "All the security forces in charge of protecting the polling centers, not to carry mobile phones while in duty, as it was decided to ban mobile phones inside the polling centers for security purposes."
