IHEC announces its readiness to open polling centers to voters

    The Independent High Electoral Commission announced today, Sunday, its readiness to open polling centers to voters.
    IHEC spokeswoman Jumana al-Ghalay told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The number of polling centers in the puplic voting is 8,273 centers, with more than 55 thousand stations," pointing out that "1249 international observers participate in monitoring the general poll, while the number of foreign journalists is 510 journalist participating in the coverage of the public voting, while local observers numbered 147,152.
     
    Al-Ghalay added that the number of polling centers in Rusafa reached 1032, Karkh 792 polling centers, Erbil 498 polling centers, Anbar 380 centers, Basra 514 polling centers, Sulaymaniyah more than 500 centers, Diwaniyah 289 centers, Muthanna 170 polling centers, Najaf 336 centers, Babil 413 polling centers and Dohuk 264 centers, Diyala 483 centers, Dhi Qar 440 centers, Salah al-Din 312 centers, Karbala 244 centers, Kirkuk 315 centers, Maysan 230 centers, Nineveh 753 centers, Wasit more than 300 polling stations.
    She pointed out that "The total number of candidates reached 3,227, including 951 women, and 789 individual candidates."
