Karbala Criminal Court sentences life imprisonment for a drug dealer

Holy Karbala Criminal Court issued Today, Monday,  a life imprisonment sentence against a merchant for the crime of trafficking in narcotic substances.

The Judicial Council stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the trafficker was found in possession of approximately (43) grams of the narcotic substance methylamphetamine (crystal) and two (2) scales used to weigh narcotic substances."

The statement added, "The ruling was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 28/First of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017."
