The Directorate General of Intelligence and Security DGIS of the Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday arresting two accused on charges of terrorism and antiquities trafficking in Baghdad.
DGIS said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The detachments of the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense were able to arrest two wanted persons wanted by the judiciary on charges of terrorism and antiquities traficking in Taji district and the Saidiya area in Baghdad, against whom two arrest warrants were issued in accordance with the provisions of Articles 1/4 terrorism and 44 antiquities."
The statement added that "one of them was seized in possession of a painting and archaeological seals, where the seizures were confiscated and the convicts were referred to the competent investigative authorities to complete the necessary procedures against them."
