The Directorate General of Intelligence and Security-DGIS at the Ministry of Defense announced the arrest of two wanted persons by the Judiciary in Baghdad on charges of terrorism and drug trafficking.
“The detachments of DGIS in Baghdad were able to arrest one of those wanted by the Judiciary on terrorism charges in Karada district in Baghdad,” stated DGIS in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency-INA.
The statement added, " An arrest warrant was issued against the accused in accordance with the provisions of Article (1/4) of Anti/ Terrorism Law by al- Karkh Investigation Court, affirming that all the necessary measures were taken against him and he was referred to the Judiciary."
"DGIS detachments were also able to arrest drug dealer in Al-Shaab region, north of the capital, according to an arrest warrant issued against him (28) drugs from one of the competent courts,” the statement continued. Pointing out that, "He was duly handed over to the concerned authorities."
