The Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, confirmed today, Saturday, that joint committees have been formed between Baghdad and Ankara to discuss technical, financial and legal issues.
A statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, held an expanded meeting in Baghdad, with the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdul Qadir Oraloglu, and his accompanying delegation, and in the presence of high-level officials from both countries, to discuss the issue.” Development Road Project.
Al-Saadawi said: “We discussed a number of issues related to the development road project with the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu,” explaining, “The meeting discussed the technical, legal and financial issues.”.
He added, "The meeting also reviewed the economic model of the project and how to establish and operate its various projects.".
The two sides stressed, according to the statement, “the importance of conducting field visits to land and railway connection points between the two countries.”.
Al-Saadawi confirmed, “Joint committees have been formed between Baghdad and Ankara to discuss technical, financial and legal issues, which will work to resolve any issues in order to begin work on implementing the project.”.
