Oil Minister :The Ministry's keenness to support rapid energy solutions projects to invest associated gas

    Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani, today, Sunday, expressed his keenness to support projects of rapid energy solutions for investing in associated gas, while the Executive Director of General Electric’s energy units, Medhat Al-Muraabi, indicated seeking to use jet turbine technology in. Converting burned gas to produce electrical energy.

    The Ministry of Oil said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Hayyan Abdul Ghani, received today the Executive Director of Mobile Power Units at General Electric Energy Company in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Medhat Al-Marabi, and his accompanying delegation in the presence of the Undersecretary for Gas Affairs, Izzat Saber, and the Deputy Director General of the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up."

    According to the statement, Abdul-Ghani stressed that “investing burned gas and converting it into useful productive energy is of interest to the government program and the ministry’s plans,” pointing out that “the ministry has achieved advanced steps in the fields of Basra, Maysan, and Dhi Qar, leading to plans to stop burning gas during the next few years."

    The statement pointed out "the Ministry's keenness to support rapid energy solutions projects to invest associated gas and convert it into useful energy, in cooperation with specialized international companies," praising "the cooperation and efforts made by international companies to achieve the goal of the government and the Ministry in this regard, including General Electric Energy Company."

    For his part, Executive Director of Mobile Power Units at General Electric Energy in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Medhat Al-Marabi, said: “The meeting included an emphasis on the strategic partnership between the Ministry of Oil and General Electric, and praising the government’s role in the projects that the company is implementing in the sector Energy throughout Iraq, in addition to discussing the technical presentation presented by General Electric Company for rapid solutions to benefit from burned associated gas to produce electrical energy by benefiting from General Electric’s jet turbine technology, and the proposal to sign a framework agreement on the sidelines of the COP28 climate conference."
