British media announced, today, Friday, that Liverpool have agreed to pay 110 million pounds sterling to sign Ecuadorian player Moises Caicedo from Brighton, which is the highest deal in the English Premier League.
Caicedo, 21, who plays in the defensive midfield, was the focus of Chelsea's attention during the current transfer market, but Brighton refused to release him for less than 100 million pounds.
Caicedo's move to Liverpool would surpass the previous Premier League record £107m Chelsea spent to sign Argentine world champion Enzo Fernandez from Benfica last year.
Brighton will be the biggest beneficiary of the deal, who joined Caicedo for only 4 million pounds from Independiente del Valle in 2021.
Noteworthy, if Caicedo joins Liverpool, he will play again with his former colleague, the Qatar World Cup champion, Argentine Alexis McAllister, who left Brighton for Liverpool. last July.
Liverpool, who finished fifth last season, is seeking to strengthen its midfield after the departure of the duo Jordan Henderson and Brazilian Fabinho to Saudi clubs.
