The Border Ports Authority announced on Monday, the seizure of (380) grams of narcotic triac in the possession of a foreign traveler at the Al-Shaib border crossing.
A statement of the authority, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the seizure process was carried out by the customs police station detachment and the protection force at the port in cooperation with the customs employee, the technical division, the office of the National Intelligence Service, and the licensing and port intelligence division at the travelers entry gate in a failed attempt to smuggle (380) grams of narcotic triac and its entry into the country."
The statement added, "A joint committee has been formed, a formal seizure report has been organized, and the accused and the seized items have been referred to the judiciary to take appropriate legal measures."
