The General Directorate of narcotics Affairs announced on Friday the arrest of the most dangerous international drug trafficking network in Muthanna.
The directorate stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "under the supervision and close follow-up by the minister of Interior Abdul Amir al-Shammari, and within the framework of the national campaign to combat drugs and the specific duties performed by the Directorate, a working group headed by the Director General of narcotics Affairs and detachments of the Karkh narcotics affairs directorate was formed and by a judicial decision, the most dangerous international drug trafficking network consisting of three defendants was arrested," indicating that"two million Captagon pills weighing 220 kilograms were seized in their possession in Muthanna governorate."
"The accused have been placed under arrest in accordance with the provisions of Article 27 to receive their fair punishment," it added.
