Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, received Today, Saturday, his Iranian counterpart, Ahmed Vahidi, at Zurbatiyah border crossing in Wasit Governorate, to hold a security meeting.

A statement of the Ministry of Interior, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "The Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, received his Iranian counterpart, Ahmed Vahidi, at Zurbatiyah border crossing in Wasit Governorate, for the purpose of holding a security meeting between the two countries."

"The bilateral meeting will discuss issues of joint security coordination, control of international borders, and preparations to receive Iranian visitors during the Arbaeen pilgrimage this year,” the statement added.
