Ministry of Transport issues an explanation of EU air safety list

    INA - BAGHDAD 

    The Ministry of Transport issued on Saturday, a clarification regarding the European air safety list file while revealing plans to upgrade Iraqi Airlines.

    "Various local media reported statements by MPs about extending the European air safety list on the Iraqi Airlines, and in this regard, the Ministry of Transport would like to show that the Air Navigation Safety Agency holds a semi-annual meeting to discuss the decisions of the air safety imposed on some carriers, and it was decided during its meetings to lift the ban or to maintain it until the regulations and standards approved by the international organization are completed," according to a statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA. 

    The statement included, "The Minister of Transport, Razak Muhibis Al-Saadawi, attaches great importance to the civil aviation file in his ministerial program, and this file has witnessed remarkable progress in terms of compliance with the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization - ICAO and the European Air Aviation Safety Agency - EASA."
