Popular Mobilization Forces Chief of Staff Abdul Aziz al-Muhammadawi arrived Sunday at the Anbar Operations Command in the city of al-Qaim to discuss securing the border.
A statement by the Popular Mobilization Media Directorate, obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said that "the Chief of Staff of the Popular Mobilization, Abdul Aziz al-Muhammadawi, and his accompanying delegation arrived at the Anbar Operations Command in the city of al-Qaim."
"He was received by the commander of Anbar operations for the PMF, Qassim Musleh and a number of field commanders, the chief of staff held a security meeting upon his arrival to discuss the latest security preparations for securing the Iraqi-Syrian border," the statement said.
According to the statement, al-Muhammadawi stressed "commitment to the directives and recommendations of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces in keeping the border and preventing any danger that may threaten the security of the country," stressing "the need to cooperate with the security forces of the Iraqi army, interior and border guards, raise the full readiness of military units and intensify tasks to secure the border strip from any possible emergency."
