Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency INA that Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani chaired a meeting today, Sunday, with the National Team for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Projects.
The statement read “The meeting reviewed and followed up on the actions taken by the team, including the commencement of installing renewable energy systems in government buildings as a first phase. This initiative aims to reduce pressure on the national power grid, ensure sufficient energy production, and promote energy conservation.”
It further said “The Prime Minister expressed his support for the national team’s efforts to find swift and comprehensive solutions in the field of renewable energy production. He emphasized that these efforts align with the government’s objectives to significantly increase the generation capacity of solar energy, while also addressing urban pollution, reducing its levels, and reducing harmful emissions.”
