The National Security Service-INSS announced Saturday the arrest of four drug smugglers in Basra.
INSS said in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that " A force from the National Security Service in Basra Governorate, after obtaining judicial approvals, managed to capture two drug smugglers in the center of the province," noting that " Two others were arrested, one of whom was engaged in the trade and smuggling of hashish”.
"The operation took place after detecting the accused whereabouts after they used false identification, as about 200,000 narcotic pills were seized from them," the statement added.
Meanwhile, INSS detachments Dhi Qar Governorate were able to arrest a drug dealer in possession of quantities of narcotic substances and a number of weapons and equipment after setting up an elaborate ambush that resulted in his arrest in flagrante delicto," noting that " Indicating that "the seized materials were confiscated in coordination with the relevant authorities, and the accused were brought to the judicial authorities to receive their fair punishment in accordance with the law."
