The veterinary department in the Ministry of Agriculture confirmed the issuance of a government decision banning the import of poultry products from Turkey due to the outbreak of bird flu.
The director of the epidemiology department in the veterinary department, Thaer Sabri Hussein, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "A decision was issued to ban the import of poultry products in countries where bird flu has spread, including Turkey.".
He added, "The decision was issued since January 31 of this year, and every poultry product from Turkey that is currently in the market either entered on a date prior to the ban decision, or entered illegally after this date."
