    The University of Baghdad won an advanced ranking among the top 100 universities around the world in petroleum engineering, according to the QS classification.

    The Director of the Quality Assurance Department at the university, Omar Faleh Hassan, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Department of Petroleum Engineering at the College of Engineering has ranked (51-100), in the QS global classification for scientific disciplines, after it managed to achieve Most of the standards stipulated in the classification, which made the University of Baghdad become one of the best universities around the world in the field of petroleum engineering.

    He added, "The QS classification relies on several sources, including global surveys conducted by QS for academics and employers, which are used to assess the reputation of international universities in each discipline, and to assess the impact of research, based on research citations for each research paper and the h-index in the relevant discipline." sourced from Elsevier's Scopus database, the most comprehensive research citation database in the world.".
